1943 Bombs destroy the rink during World War II

1948 Rebuilding of the artificial refrigerated rink
1959 Start of Speed Skating  in Mannheim (MERC)
1976 Division of the MERC in MERC-KSE (Kunstlauf + Schnellauf + Eisstockschiessen) and MERC-Eishockey
1981 Start with Short Track Speed Skating in Mannheim
1982 January 13th, Opening of the Leistungszentrum Herzogenried LZH (today called EZH = Eissportzentrum Herzogenried) the new artificial centre for ice-sport with two rinks.
1988 LZH burned down and was destroyed totally.
1991 Opening of the rebuilt LZH
1996 Change of the name of the MERC-KSE to  MERC K+S (Kunstlauf + Schnellauf = Figure Skating and  Speed Skating)
